Heat meters

In simple systems where only a small number of properties are heated, meters are usually manually read and end-users billed accordingly. In larger installations where a greater number of properties are heated, it is possible to install either can bus or radio link up to the meters for central reading via a PC. To take this a stage further it is possible to sub-contract the whole meter reading and billing operation.

How Do Heat Meters Work?
The heat meters we use, use an ultra sonic flow meter to measure the flow. This is, in combination with the flow and return temperature differential is used to calculate a kWh used for billing purposes.

Heat sales

Through the use of biomass fuels it is possible to supply heat to end users for considerably less than the cost of heat generated through a fossil fuel system (<3.00p/kWh). If this heat is sold to the end user at a rate competitive with the fossil fuels (circa 8.00p/kWh) it should be possible to pay back the capital cost of the installation relatively quickly.
